The objective is to demonstrate more effective watershed management through greater integration of programs related to rainfed agriculture, innovative and science-based approaches and strengthened institutions and capacities of stakeholders at different levels. The project aims to strengthen science-based watershed management in IWMP by introducing innovations in the planning process through capacity strengthening of farmers and stakeholders, including officials and policy makers of the department through formal training program on IWMP and exposure visits to site of learning watersheds in India, China, Thailand, Philippines, Ethiopia and Kenya.
