Improving rural livelihoods through farmer-centric integrated watershed management in Andhra Pradesh

The specific goal of this initiative is to increase agricultural productivity and improve rural livelihoods sustainably in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh and Mahboobnagar district in Telangana. This will be done by establishing â€œModel Sites of Learningâ€ to harness the potential of rainfed areas by adopting an integrated water resource management approach; enhancing water availability and its (green and blue water) use efficiency to diversify the livelihood systems in the target villages; and building the capacity of the farmers in the region through knowledge sharing and dissemination.
