The specific goal of this initiative is to increase agricultural productivity and improve rural livelihoods in Bijapur and Kolar districts of Karnataka. This will be done by establishing “Model Sites of Learning” to harness the potential of rainfed areas by adopting an integrated water resource management approach; enhancing water availability (green and blue water) and its use efficiency to diversify the livelihood systems in the target villages; and by building the capacity of the farmers in the region through knowledge sharing and dissemination.
