The activities envisaged under this project are: Conduct Feasibility Study, needs assessment & stakeholder engagement in Malawi and Tanzania: â€¢ Conduct and oversee Needs assessment study to Identify need of remote rural communities for ICT-mediated climate services in project pilot sites in Tanzania and Malawi and feasibility of executing ICT-mediated two-way information communication platform (desk review study and fieldwork) â€¢ Identify relevant partner organizations and farm facilitators (info intermediary/info entrepreneurs) in pilot project sites for effective execution of requested ICT-mediated climate services â€¢ Identify appropriate public-private partnerships and needed collaborations with research, public, private and NGO actors in the pilot sites of GFCS project and nation-wide to develop and implement innovative and sustainable ICT-mediated climate information service systems responsive to farmer needs Develop actionable recommendations for a business model to sustain delivery of ICT-based climate services in Tanzania and Malawi, to inform design of WFP ICT activity under GFCS project. Operational Support to establish public-private partnerships for scaling up of climate services for ICTs: Plan, Conduct and Facilitate Training programs and capacity building activities for enhancing the capacities of local partner organizations, public-private sector stakeholders, and farm facilitators, as identified from needs assessment.
