The proposed project aims to improve nutrition while making farming a profitable enterprise in the drylands. It would involve multiple interventions at different levels in the agricultural value chain ranging from improved cropping system based approaches, drought management strategies, resource conservation models to post-harvest management and food processing opportunities, and capacity building development initiatives in off-farm sectors for specifically identified value chains. It would develop an enabling environment that would equip dryland rural communities dependent on the agricultural sector to improve their productivity and livelihood options.
