The overall project aim is to increase income and livelihoods for small holders, rural poor and rural youth through sustainable intensification and diversification of affordable plant and animal based food and fuel production. The project will focus on four target groups, small holder rural women and men farmers, rural youth and small scale entrepreneurs but benefits will also accrue to poor urban consumers by increasing supply of nutritious food at affordable prices through increased efficiency in the supply chain.
