The project builds on FSC/2013/006, to test a specific combination of technical methods and engagement approaches to increase irrigation water productivity and profitability in African smallholder irrigation schemes. The project intends to focus on expanding the use of simple tools and AIPs for enhancing farmer-self-learning, enhanced governance and market access rather than directly addressing construction or renewal of irrigation infrastructure as a means to increase irrigation productivity.
