This project has been funded by USAID through IKP Knowledge Park, Hyderabad : ICRISAT in partnership with BARI, CFI and PRAN envisages to achieve nutritional outcomes in Bangladesh through developing and promoting peanut-value chains. Studies has established that groundnut-based food products meet the key criteria of affordability, accessibility, acceptability, nutritional quality and business interest, the necessary criteria for foods to contribute to reducing malnutrition. The project activities involve piloting groundnut-based food supplements by replicating a successful model adopted by CFI in Tamil Nadu-India, measure and disseminate the nutritional outcomes, establish seed supply chain and disseminate agricultural innovations for enhanced productivity and quality of groundnut and upscaling and sustainability will be achieved by involving SHGs in production process and anchoring to world food programs.
