Specifically, the project has the following objectives: support for breeder, basic, and certified seed production; increasing adoption through variety demonstration and promotion; seed distribution and marketing; and capacity building and strengthening of seed partnerships. Combating malnutrition through the promotion of bio-fortified crops naturally rich in nutrients is an innovative solution to combating Vitamin A deficiency suited for poor rural households. The project is promoting the adoption, of orange-fleshed sweet potato (OFSP) which is rich in Vitamin A through increasing the production and productivity of quality planting material of OFSP.
