Soil conservation and rehabilitation of degraded land for food security in India

The objective of this project is to study the impact of cropping system and soil fertility management practices on selected ecosystem services in the context of semi-arid areas in the Maharashtra state of India. It is a direct contribution to the GIZ facilitated project on Soil protection and rehabilitation for food security in India (SPRFS). Using the well tested 6+1 approach of the Economics of Land Degradation Initiative (ELD 2015), this effort will add to a growing data set providing globally relevant data on the economic benefits of land and land based ecosystems.
