The project has been organized into four objectives with each objective having three to four activities. These follow a logical process for improving popular cultivars for disease resistance and oil quality using genomics-assisted breeding; identification of candidate genes and development of user-friendly genetic markers for the above mentioned two diseases (late leaf spot and rust) and oil quality traits; identification of promising MABC lines with desirable attributes and disease resistance; and training to the collaborating partners on the use of genomics in groundnut improvement and research.
