The purpose of the project is to improve incomes of farmers through improved productivity and high farm gate price of sesame. This will be achieved by providing high-yielding, end user-preferred varieties, ensuring that the produce meets grades and standards demanded by high value niche markets and by reducing transaction costs along the value chain. Enriching the sesame varieties, highly valued within the local diet; will improve food and nutritional security, and incomes and reduce poverty.
